SWIMMING LESSONS

All of our lessons are delivered by Amateur Swimming Association (ASA) qualified teachers. Your children can start as young as 4 months, are available for all ages and you can join at any time.

Our Programme offers continuous assessment which allows children to progress through the various stages at their own pace. With more contact time between children and instructors, children progress at a steadier rate and can fulfil their potential more quickly. When a swimmer meets the criteria of their current class, a place in the next stage will be offered, subject to availability. This progression can take place at any time during the year.

To enable pupils to gain maximum benefit from continuous development, our lessons run for 46 weeks of the year - providing a two week at Christmas and a four week break during the summer holidays respectively. This excludes Toddler classes which run term time only.

To apply for a course please complete a Swim School Enquiry Form or call 01233663503

TODDLER Ages: 2 – 4 years.

Toddler swimming lessons introduce children into the water and work on skills that include going underwater, blowing bubbles, floating, kicking with floats and general water confidence. Parents are expected to swim with their child unless stated otherwise by the instructor.

These 30 minute classes take place in the Teaching Pool and work towards the ASA Duckling Awards (term time only).

JUNIOR

Swimmers develop the core range of skills required to be confident, competent and safe in the water. These classes do not require an adult to accompany the swimmer.

ROOKIE LIFEGUARD

Rookie is developed in association with the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS). It teaches basic personal survival and lifesaving skills and is split into 3 achievement levels: Bronze, Silver and Gold which are attained throughout the programme. The scheme can be started at any level and there are no formal assessments - each activity is simply signed off by the trainer when successfully completed.

ADULT

The courses consist of basic water safety and confidence to improve stroke technique.

Dates/Times: Fridays 09.15 -10.00 & 18.00 - 19.00 and places must be booked in advance.

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons are also available to those who wish to be taught on a one to one, or one to two basis. Please complete our swimming enquiry form or contact our main reception team on 01233 663503 for more information on how to book a place.

HOMEPORTAL

Your Swim School lessons can be managed online using Home Portal. With one simple login you can manage one or more lessons. Our teachers log pupil progress electronically during lessons, this information can then be viewed on Home Portal.

Another great benefit of Home Portal is that when your child is ready to move up to the next level, you will receive an email alert. You can then log on, check class availability and move them to the next level at a time/day that suits you. Those paying in 12 week blocks can also view how many lessons they have remaining before they need to renew.

Already registered?  Access Home Portal now. You can also register now if you have your child's card ID.  If you do not have the ID number, please contact our Main Reception team.
