Our next lifeguard NPLQ course will run during the Easter holiday from Monday 10th to Saturday 15th April 2017 and include an AED defib element.
The National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is a two stage course and is usually the minimum requirement for all lifeguards who want to work in swimming pools. The courses include the training and assessment of both units. Candidates must be over 16 at the start of the course, be available for the whole week (6 days) and able to meet the following criteria:
Jump or dive into deep water, swim 40m in 65 seconds, tread water for 30 seconds and surface dive to a depth of 1.8m.
A swim test will be required prior to any booking being accepted.
Courses generally run from 0800-1700 each day (900 - 1300 on the Saturday) and costs £285 per person.
If employment is being sought at the Stour Centre, assistance with funding for this course may be available.
